New to Con Alegría Movement?
Con Alegría Movement was founded to create more joy and connection in people's lives through Latin dance. If you like to move, share, smile, and grow authentically, you have found a great place to dance.
You don't need a partner, and there are intro classes to start with. This guide covers how to join your first class, what we offer, where we teach, and the questions newcomers ask most.

What we offer
Classes
We offer leveled, progressive classes in six-week series as well as drop-in, with a focus on social dancing. We encourage growth and connecting with a core set of people, while keeping learning engaging and fun.
Socials + Events
Socials and other events are mixed in for dancing and mingling: a perfect opportunity to enjoy what you've learned and meet others in the community. The Calendar always shows the next ones.
Teams
For those interested in more than social dancing and taking their training to another level, we have various teams and short-term performance challenges throughout the year.
Two Simple Ways to Start
Drop-In
$20.00
Try a single class, no commitment.
Monthly Unlimited
$155.00
Unlimited classes at your level for a month, including workshops and that month's Rants Social.
A drop-in is the easiest way to try your first class; Monthly Unlimited is built for dancers attending regularly.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a partner?
- Nope. In classes, we rotate partners so everyone has a chance to practice and meet new people. Couples who attend do not have to rotate.
- What do I wear?
- It is recommended to wear breathable clothing that you can move well in. For shoes, it is best to wear a clean-soled shoe that is not grippy. There are shoe socks and cheap dance shoes available through Amazon.
- Where are classes?
- We rent space at two different studios, so check the calendar.
- How do I stay informed?
- We share information through our socials, Facebook and Instagram. We also have a WhatsApp community featuring several genre subgroups and an announcements chat where you can get news. Only admins post there so your notifications aren't going off all day.
